Notebook XPS 14 – dell da14260_reg_01

This XPS laptop replaced a predecessor seven years old, that had worked very well but its capacities were now full - caused partly by Dropbox. The new computer works equally well but with better capacity

Delivery could have been earlier/faster. Product is great - sleek design, slim, works like a dream.

I'm very impressed with the new Dell XPS 14. From the moment you take it out of the box, it feels like a true premium laptop. The CNC-machined aluminum construction gives it a solid, high-end feel while still keeping the laptop remarkably thin and lightweight. The display is one of the highlights. The 14-inch screen is sharp, vibrant, and excellent for both productivity and entertainment. The overall design is clean and modern, and Dell has made some welcome improvements to the keyboard and touchpad compared with previous XPS generations. Performance is excellent. The new Intel Core Ultra platform handles multitasking, productivity applications, browsing, and demanding workloads smoothly. With plenty of RAM and fast SSD storage, everything feels responsive and quick. Battery life is also impressive for such a thin laptop. I especially appreciate the modern connectivity, including Wi-Fi 7, Thunderbolt 4, and the excellent 8MP/4K HDR webcam. The speakers are surprisingly good for such a thin machine as well. Overall, the new XPS 14 is an excellent combination of premium design, portability, performance, display quality, and battery life. Dell has clearly listened to feedback from previous XPS generations and made meaningful improvements. Pros: * Premium build quality * Beautiful display * Excellent performance * Great battery life * Thin and lightweight * Excellent webcam * Wi-Fi 7 * Fast SSD and memory * Improved keyboard and touchpad * Excellent overall design The only real drawback is the limited physical port selection, since most connections are USB-C/Thunderbolt 4. A USB-C hub or dock may be necessary for some users.

Overall performance of the laptop is great. Runs smoothly, great battery performance. A few minor design tweaks would make this product better. I bought the XPS with a touch screen, however the screen hinge is limited and does not open past a certain angle, making it hard to 'draw' on the screen. The limited hinge also makes it hard to view the screen when using a portable laptop stand. I found the mouse pad too big and my palm keeps pressing on it when typing.

I needed a US keyboard laptop to be configured in the UK and sent to the US in a hurry, the account manager was so helpful

I have been using the Dell XPS 14" with the X9 processor, 2TB of storage, and 2.8K OLED display, and it has quickly become one of the best laptops I have ever used. The overall experience feels premium from the moment you pick it up. The 2.8K OLED display is outstanding, providing sharp text, rich colors, deep blacks, and excellent contrast. It makes everything from everyday productivity to multimedia work look exceptional. The X9 processor provides more than enough performance for demanding workloads, with applications opening quickly and the system remaining responsive even when running multiple applications at the same time. The 2TB of storage also provides plenty of room for large applications, files, and project data without requiring external storage. The physical design is another area where the XPS 14 stands out. It has a clean, modern appearance and feels solid and well built without being unnecessarily bulky. The keyboard provides a great typing experience, and the laptop feels equally at home in a professional office environment or while traveling. Battery life has been excellent during my testing and has allowed me to work for extended periods without constantly needing to search for an outlet. The system has also maintained good thermal performance during normal and demanding use, without becoming excessively hot or generating distracting fan noise. The only minor negative I have experienced is the trackpad. It does not provide the traditional physical "click" or tactile feedback that I am accustomed to with a conventional trackpad. It has taken me some time to adjust to the way it responds, and I am still getting used to it. This is more of an adjustment to the design than a performance issue, and I expect it will become more natural with continued use. Overall, the Dell XPS 14" is a laptop I would have no hesitation recommending to professional users who want a combination of performance, portability, build quality, battery life, and display quality. The combination of the X9 processor, 2TB storage, and 2.8K OLED display creates a system that feels capable of handling virtually any productivity workload while still providing an excellent day-to-day user experience. After using and testing a number of different laptops, the XPS 14 has stood out as one of the best systems I have had the opportunity to use.

Great machine - works like a dream - good battery, doesn't get hot and can be used on the lap. Great screen, pretty compact and not heavy. Delivery on Made to Order was reasonably quick and extremely well packed.

Overall this has been a good upgrade, installing the 2T memory makes this a weapon, fast to boot and fast to use, excellent performance, the key pad without the buttons that go sticky is a step in the right direction! Audio quality is great and the speakers are also a massive improvement. Battery performance is excellent and no FOMO towards the end of a busy day.

I use this Dell XPS laptop computer for various needs at home and work. It's very nice, a great size, and appears durable. It is fast and has fast Wi-Fi. The keyboard and touchpad are comfortable. It does not have HDMI, Ethernet, or USB-A ports, so I just use a USB-C adapter when needed (not often). It would have been nice if such an adapter came with the computer. I like the matte display on this computer-- much more functional than a glossy display. The installed Dell software is usable and helpful. I'm not sure why Microsoft has still not figured out how to fix all of the various problems with Hello sign-in. The keyboard backlight seems to disable itself unexpectedly. Unfortunately, Microsoft's Copilot key hinders use of CTRL on the keyboard. This is still a good computer that I recommend.

Solid laptop. Very nice slightly heavy and requires the 100Watt power adapter.
