That worked—if you ignore the fact that we were paying premium prices for tiny cups of coffee that still somehow tasted like Keurig coffee. Our machine is an older model that can brew a full carafe, but the larger pods have been discontinued and apparently erased from existence. I eventually found a refillable Amazon gadget that lets me brew a carafe with ground coffee, but since I wake up earlier than my wife, the coffee was always cold by the time she got up. If the goal was disappointment, we absolutely nailed it. That finally pushed me to buy a real coffee maker. In stores, the options were either flimsy machines from brands that sound like they were named during a game of Mad Libs, or wildly expensive models stuffed with features no normal person wants. I don’t need my coffee maker to connect to Wi-Fi, track my habits, or form opinions. I just want hot coffee. Then I remembered my time as a former Whirlpool employee and realized I could use my Inside Pass to get something well-made without paying “countertop luxury item” prices. I ordered this machine before reading the reviews, and I’m glad I did, because many of the complaints I later saw were baffling. Several reviewers claimed the coffee maker makes a mess when you open it because condensation drips all over the counter. That has never happened to me. Either those people are opening it like a raccoon in a panic, or they’re doing something very wrong. In normal, calm, upright use, the machine behaves perfectly. It’s easy to fill, and the filter basket is clearly marked to show how much coffee to use based on the number of cups—though I genuinely don’t understand why anyone would ever brew less than a full carafe. If you’re making coffee, commit. It has two programmable timers, which lets me set one schedule for weekdays and another for weekends, because even this coffee maker understands that weekends follow different rules. The bold setting actually produces a strong, flavorful pot of coffee instead of something that looks convincing but tastes like it was brewed in the next room. I also like that the machine can be turned sideways on the counter, giving easy access to the controls without reorganizing the entire kitchen. Overall, this is a massive upgrade over the Mr. Coffee machines from decades ago, which always felt like they were doing you a favor by turning on. My only minor complaint is that the carafe lid isn’t easily removable, which makes dishwasher loading a bit of an awkward puzzle. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it does make you wonder how that particular design choice survived a meeting.

I purchased this coffee pot because I stand behind the Kitchen Aid brand. The coffee is delicious. It's easy to clean and easy to program. I definitely recommend this 12 cup drip coffee marker.

Great coffee pot. We love the option of being able to set two different brew timers. Great for the distinction between weekday brew times and weekend brew times.

We purchased this about six years ago when we had gone through several coffee makers. We purchased this along with the coffee grinder. We could not be more pleased and we have used both at least twice a day for six years. No issues.

Our model 1208 was purchased in spring o 2020 and it the best machine I have ever had ( over 50 yrs). I just bought the 1209 model. I love the upgrades...honestly you will be sorry to pass up this coffee maker...you will love it!
