I've recently started baking sourdough. I've had a trustworthy older, smaller KitchenAid model for about 30 years, but it wasn't heavy duty enough for my doughs. This new gal gets the job done! No over stressing the motor or mixing bowl coming off. I'm very happy with my purchase.

This is my second standup KitchenAid mixer. I gifted my 25 year old Artisan to my son and daughter in law because we wanted a bigger bowl so we purchased the 7qt and it's absolutely amazing. I will note something....the first one that was delivered, in the middle of mixing bread just stopped. No reason and we went through all the normal steps. Did we blow a fuse, did it over heat, etc. but nothing made it come back on. I called KitchenAid and explained the situation and I seriously got through my brief experience and the customer service person said "Sounds like we need to send you a new one". I mean, what business do something like that anymore? A new one was in my home in 5 days and a return label, at no cost to me was provided so I could send the defective one back. Unbelievable....I will be a KitchenAid buyer for the rest of my life. The new one works great....made my loaf of bread and many other things. Thank you KitchenAid for making me a life long fan!
