Overall I'm very satisfied with this laptop so far. Our family has had a good track record with XPS laptops (2 9575s and a 9530), but we had some complaints on previous models, mainly due to the bad thermals and hot keyboard deck when doing intensive tasks like gaming or rendering. However, I decided to give Dell another chance with the XPS 16, and I have been delighted to see that Dell has really stepped up their game. Firstly, this laptop is *beautiful*, one of the prettiest laptops I've ever seen. Great build quality, amazing trackpad. The capacitive touch row is perhaps controversial but definitely unique and hasn't given me too many issues. The screen is high refresh, meaning everything feels very smooth. Thermals are also very good on this machine, fans are either silent or inaudible during light tasks and the keyboard feels cool to the touch. When under load, fans still are quieter than many other laptops and the keyboard remains cool. CPU and GPU temps rarely go above 70-75C, and even the bottom of the laptop doesn't get too warm. This laptop is also decently powerful. The GPU isn't as strong as in a gaming laptop, but still strong enough for creative workloads and 3D rendering. The CPU is snappy enough in daily use and also great when doing heavy workloads like compiling code. Overall, this isn't a laptop that's the "best" in anything specific- it's not as light as other laptops, it's not as powerful as others, but it's one of the best packages I've seen overall, a beautiful and sturdy laptop with good performance.

Absoluted thrilled with my new laptop. The quality is amazing, very easy to migrate data from my old PC and it went smoothly. Highly recommend DELL for any computer product!

Just upgraded my laptop. The existing one was also a DELL, it was 3 years old, working fine, but showing signs of its age. So thought I should get an upgrade. Decided to go for another DELL, and got the XPS 16 laptop, the newest one from DELL. I am really glad I got this. It works seamlessly, the data transfer was easily done, and it works beautifully. I feel I will get a much longer life out of this XPS laptop, as it is much sturdier. The screen is very clear, and the backlit keyboard is also very good. Overall, a very good laptop!

Amazing computer. I purchased this laptop for my daughter, who is an incoming freshman majoring in Engineering. It met all of her college's specifications for a high-performance device, and we were able to get a great value for the price. It's still early, but she already loves the setup—the large screen and user-friendly features have made a great first impression. Overall, this has been a win!

I use the unit for email and online research----I'm a writer. I chose this unit because of the screen size and type. My 17" screen Dell laptop died. My single most significant complaint deals with there no instructions other than rutinary to follow to actually allow to get the thing up and running. I recommend the unit, not Dell if that makes any sense.
