Alienware Area-51: Desktop per il gioco più potente Windows – dell aat2250_reg_01

Honestly, I didn't know what I was getting into when I decided to make the plunge on Dell's Alienware Area 51. I have built PC's in the past before there were GPU card and saw, first hand, what a GPU did for the graphics in gaming. And it only got better. I was always lagging behind the performance curve in gaming where I was using minimum to medium settings. Fast forward, I was looking for an all-in-one solution that was supported. So, I went all in with the Intel Core Ultra 9 and the Nvidia RTX 5090. What surprised me most, upon delivery, was the size of this system. I love the silvery case cover. It fit perfectly in my home office. Lighting was not a thing in the early days. So, I'm having fun with case lighting. So much, I ordered the Alien pro keyboard that has lighting controlled from the Dell app. Dell pairs a cheap keyboard and mouse that is wired to usb port. It works, but with a system of this quality, it seems a better, wireless solution would be appropriate. This build came with the 32GB RAM option that runs the memory at 7200 MT/s with Intel 200S boost. The system completely powered itself off 4 or 5 times during the first two days. Researching showed that there was a conflict the Intel 200S. Once all the updates were done, the system was stablized. But the Dell stress test from the website will still crash the system. This is due to conflicts with two processes trying to control 200S option. I'm sure it will get worked out over time. I do not have a need to stress test. I do that with gaming. I have been running some of my more graphic intensive games on the lowest settings to get decent performance. Now, I've gone to the other end of the spectrum. Cinematic option seems to be the top category nowadays. And with all the settings at max, this system runs great. I'm loving it. I have this system paired with a OLED ultra wide monitor that runs natively at 240hz with 0.03ms response time. With G-sync, the FPS will fluctuate. The GPU is delivering peaks of 400 FPS with DLSS. I also run Bionic AI models that take advantage of the GPU. I'm pushing the GPU to 100%. It's great. This build has allowed me to further my curiosity and education into the AI world. I play around with different models to see how the work, running locally on the computer. I have mixed feelings about AlienWare Command Center (AWCC). It's nice when it works. It's quirky. I'd like to see more detail of the performance settings it does to the BIOS. It's done under the covers. It will give some performance stats on certain games. It also allows you to setup your own LED color scheme for each game using profiles. The gaming keyboard is also part of the profiles, but there are times the app can't find the keyboard unless I restart Windows. Dell's support assist is a nice solution to monitor all the components for upgrades. I'm new to this app, so I'll have to see how it does over time. The case design is fabulous. It is easy to remove the panels on the side without much effort. There are filters on three areas that air is being pulled in. I have the 360mm liquid cooler on this build. So there are 7 intake fans plus the 3 fans on the GPU. There are no exhaust fans. Dell engineers found that heat escaped better without an exhaust fan. So the radiator, front and bottom all pull air into the case. The AWCC shows the fan speed and heat in each location. The ports on top of the case, close to the front works perfectly for my setup. Easy access. The other thing that isn't clear in the marketing is that there is an external wifi antenna that needs to be attached to the rear where there are two posts to connect to. The cord to the antenna is short. If it is sitting or mounted somewhere, you have to be careful when moving the case around. The back side of the case has options to add one 3.5 HDD and two 2.5 inch HDD. I had an old 2TB 3.5 HDD. There is a mounting bracket that slides out to slip the drive into. It slides easily into the case where there is power and data cables conveniently waiting to be plugged in. The two 2.5 inch bays also are wired. I thought that was a nice touch and made it an effortless install. I purchased the SSD option for 1TB Gen5 and a 2TB Gen4 SSD. There is room for a third SSD under the built-in heatsinks. I liked the idea of having the faster SSD for the OS and using the other SSD for storage. Finally, the acoustics are very quiet in normal mode. The fans will kick in to high speed momentarily when gaming, but I found that they quiet down after a minute or two. I've built pc's many years ago and I hadn't kept current on what is available today. The Alienware is a solid system that I've been very happy to own....so far. So, buying from Dell, I felt confident that I was getting a good setup. With the pricing at the time of my purchase, it was cheaper than if I bought the components separately, given that GPU and memory prices are insanely expensive.

I bought the machine to render AI on my machine locally and while my previous machine (the Alienware 16 with 4090 and 24GB Vram) did the job well this is a step up, perhaps about 30% faster. More importantly, the case is HUGE and allows for future expansions of almost any kind (unlike the 16 which was too cramped for a 5090 card). However, be aware of the case size. This IS huge, it's clearly meant for the floor (and a large amount of the floor space). I wouldn't put this on a desk unless you don't want anything else on that desk. It also produces much more heat than my 4090 does and while the fans are good it still heats up my room now in the summer (thank God for A/C).

Not using it for gaming but as a quiet, fast 3D architectural modeling (Rhino) and rendering (Enscape) machine - and for that it may be overkill, but for our needs its worlds above the workstations we currently have running RTX 4000 ADA cards. Equivalent graphics performance in a workstation (w/ xeon processor, workstation RTX card and EEC memory - which we don't really need) is WAY more expensive these days. Only downsides: that it maxes out at 64GB of ram, and how friggin huge the case is (doesn't fit into the custom powder coated steel computer suspension holsters we had made beneath our workstation desks).

I have had this for a few weeks and use it for MSFS and it is superb. With all of the technological advances over the past 6 years i needed an upgrade from my previous Alienware computer. Set up was quick and easy. No system is future proof but this should be good for several years. The Dell representatives were great in helping with this purchase.

I've had my Alienware Area-51 for a little while now and it's honestly exceeded my expectations. Right out of the box the build quality feels premium — solid, well-designed, and it actually looks as good as it performs. Setup was painless and it was ready to go almost immediately. Performance is where it really shines. Everything runs fast and smooth, whether I'm gaming, multitasking, or pushing it with heavier workloads. It handles everything I throw at it without breaking a sweat, and it stays cool and quiet even under load. No lag, no stutters, no slowdowns. The Alienware design is a standout too — the lighting and styling give it that high-end feel, and the interior layout makes it easy to see the quality of the components. It's clear Dell put real thought into both the looks and the engineering. If you're on the fence about investing in a premium machine, this is the one. Fast, reliable, beautifully built, and backed by Dell's support. I couldn't be happier with it and would buy it again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.

Without a doubt, the BEST desktop PC on the market for this price!

Great gaming computer. Fast shipping as advertised also

Excellent system! Especially with the RTX 5090 connected to my LG C5. A couple small issues i'm dealing with. HAL errors 20 and 21 in Event Viewer. Its nothing major just a hiccup with time sync. (hardware real-time clock via the ACPI ) AWCC is giving me an error in EV also but works fine. I'm going uninstall and reinstall. Other than that very happy with this PC. I'm very OCD so I wish I did not have the HAL error. I'm sure it will work itself out eventually. This is a wide spread issue with many systems which include Microsoft. I'm not going to contact Dell Support because they usually want to start replacing parts i.e Mother Board etc. The case is beautiful and the lighting is superb. I'm mostly a gamer and I needed to upgrade my old Aurora R7. Its worthy of a 5 star rating.

It's max performance out of the box! with room to push if desired. ( if not in your $ budget $… the Alienware Aurora is so close in performance, just pick the max options for CPU, GPU and Memory - half the cost for minor performance loss ).

My PC is dedicated for AI use. And is used for educational development of books for children. I am able to build interactive website from hardcopy children's publications.
